My Whartscape didn’t start until the third quarter of the evening’s festivities at the BMA. As far as Friday goes, some ludicrous logistical issues had me caught up until nine o’clock when the original plan was to arrive shortly after noon. Here’s a short rundown of what I caught on Friday Night.  Greg also popped in, and was there for a significant portion of the daytime.  All photos are his, and his segments will be in yellow . 2002 didn’t suffer from quite the case of multiple personalities that 2001 did, but the changing of the musical guard was almost as apparent. While vets like Beck, Jurassic 5, Sonic Youth, Spoon, the Flaming Lips, and Wilco turned in some of the best work of their careers ( Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot tied for first place in our poll), and the teen-pop boom held strong with massive hits like Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful,” acts that would shape the sounds of the rest of the decade made themselves known.

I am not sure if its got all the amenities for cross country travel but it sure looks fantastic. Its got a great American flag paint job on the nose with shark teeth as well. Nice use of an old and classic helicopter.

A Boy and his Horse War Horse adapted from the novel by Michael Morpurgo by Nick Stafford in association with the Handspring Puppet Company “All right, boy. It’s okay.” I was jet lagged and groggily apprehensive walking into the New London Theatre (under the auspices of the National Theatre) for the revival of a play about a Devonshire lad and his faithful horse, Joey. My nervousness caused me to get lost in the narrow medieval tracks around Drury Lane.

We’ve been having collar troubles.  (Someone should write a blues song.  I can hear it now.) Way back near the dawn of time (a few weeks into our relationship), I bought Joscelin a collar .  It was a thick black leather collar with a silver ring hanging down, with sort of fuzzy cloth padding inside.  Basically a typical bdsm collar.  (There is a picture here .) It worked fine, with very occasional washings, until recently, when it started to leave an increasingly red mark on the front of his neck.  With my permission, he stopped wearing it except for sex and masturbation.  The mark slowly faded but, even after the collar was washed, wearing it overnight brought the mark back.

It comes as no surprise that Monday night’s Wilco show at Coney Island’s Keyspan Park was, by all accounts, fantastic. At this point, it would really be more surprising to hear that the show sucked. July 14, 2009Indian market rebounded from yesterdays’ losses to end the day with strong gain of more than 3% mirroring favorable cues from global markets. We have to admit that yesterday took us by surprise. It’s rare to see most of our indicators lineup, point in the same direction and then watch the markets move in the opposite direction. We rather see the markets contradict our signals by moving up. After all, a bull market makes everybody a genius . But before we get too happy about yesterday’s pleasant surprise, our technical analysis of sector stock charts only managed to produce 1 new buy signal: Airline Stocks There were a few other sector stock charts that were close to new buy signals , but more were ready to produce new sell signals .

As embarrassing as it is to admit that I’ve fallen victim to many late-night infomercial pitches, there are a few good products to break up the monotony of ridiculous products here and there.  I didn’t need a Slap Chop, but I came *this* close to buying one on a sleepless night, and Smooth Away looked like something I couldn’t live without after the 5-minute commercial.  For about every ten products that are the epitome of all human laziness, there may be one that has potential.  It was only natural for me to be hesitant to try out the InStyler which has been in heavy rotation on late-night TV lately, but it definitely piqued my interest.

Sunday July 12th was the date of the Osyoos Desert Half Ironman, which just happened to be the Canadian Long Course Championships, and, incidentally, my 30th birthday. I, along with thousands of other Vancouver girls and boys, waited in line and braved the crowds at the Sephora grand opening in Pacific Centre last Friday.
