Recently Jason and I watched Anvil! The Story of Anvil which is a great documentary about a heavy metal band. I rarely watch movies, but when I do documentaries are my favorite. This will probably one of the few movies I’ll ever include in a “Thursday Hooray!” Anyway, we were really struck by how much of ourselves we saw in Anvil. After milling around uncertainly for a few minutes we heard a piercing, dramatic howl and a young woman introduced herself as our “wolf-prince guide.” She hushed her charges and nervously bustled us across Wellington and then down a steep, winding path which abutted in four gaping tunnel mouths, all barred shut.

So I got to participate in a teleconference with Rob Zombie yesterday. It’s kind of a weird concept- a bunch of interviewers call in and are allowed one question with the man himself. I get it- they want to kill a bunch of interviews with one stone, but I also kinda don’t- there’s no flow or opportunity for follow up questions. But still, I TALKED TO ROB ZOMBIE ON THE PHONE YESTERDAY. But I don’t think he liked my question. The teleconference would last one hour.

High winds hampered efforts Wednesday to make repairs and reopen the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge after two rods and a 5,000-pound crossbeam fell into traffic lanes. Three cars were damaged, and one person suffered minor injuries when the metal debris fell onto the heavily used span during rush hour Tuesday.
